Frequently Asked Questions

The questions people ask us most, about visiting the office, consultations and fees, and how we work. If yours is not here, call us at (970) 356-5666 or send us a message.

Visiting our office

Where is your office?

Our office is at 821 9th St in downtown Greeley, Colorado 80631. The map on our contact page shows exactly where, with a link for directions.

Is there parking?

Yes. There is parking right outside our office and throughout downtown Greeley.

What are your office hours? Are you open on Saturdays?

The office is open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, and closed on weekends. You can send a message through the contact form or the chat at any time; we read them during office hours.

Do I need an appointment?

Yes, please call (970) 356-5666 or send us a message first, so an attorney can set aside time for you.

Consultations and fees

What does a consultation cost?

Personal injury consultations are free. For any other matter, the initial consultation is $150.

Will I meet with an attorney?

Yes. Your consultation is with one of our attorneys, who will go over your situation and your options with you.

How do you charge for your work?

Our injury cases are handled on a contingency fee: the fee is a percentage of what is recovered, agreed in writing before we start, and there is no hourly bill. We explain case costs before you sign anything. For other matters, we explain how the fee works at your consultation and put it in a written fee agreement before any work begins.

What should I bring to my consultation?

Anything about your matter that you have on paper: court papers and any dates you have been given, letters from an insurer or another lawyer, contracts, police reports, photographs, and a short timeline of what happened. Bring the names of the other people or businesses involved too. Our client resources page has checklists for common matters.

Why do you ask for the names of the other people involved?

Before we can take a matter, we check that we do not already represent someone on the other side. That conflict check needs the names of the other parties, so we ask for them at the start.

Working with us

Does contacting you make you my lawyer?

No. Sending a message, using the chat or calling the office does not create an attorney-client relationship. That begins once we have confirmed we can take your matter and you have agreed to the terms. Until then, please do not send confidential details.

I have a court date coming up soon. What should I do?

Call us at (970) 356-5666 rather than writing, and have the paperwork with the date in front of you. Never miss a court date, even if you have not hired a lawyer yet.

Is the chat on this website a lawyer?

No. The chat is automated. It answers questions about the firm and the website and takes down what the office needs to follow up, and it does not give legal advice. A person at the firm reads every conversation.

Do you only take cases in Greeley?

No. We are based in Northern Colorado, with our office in Greeley, and we represent clients along the entire Front Range and across Colorado. Our attorneys are regularly in the Weld and Larimer County courts and in the Morgan and Logan County combined courts.

What kinds of cases do you handle?

Divorce and family law, criminal defense and traffic violations, personal injury, business law, estate planning, probate, real estate and agriculture law. Our practice areas page has the details.

I am an attorney. Can I refer a client to you?

Yes, and thank you. Use our Refer a Case form, or call the office.

How can I leave a review?

We would be grateful. Our Leave a Review page takes you straight to the form on Google.
