“I’ve worked with the top lawyers and law firms in the country and have not met a more competent and committed firm than yours.” -Dr. Phil
Tom Grant and his partners represented the family of Shanann Watts after the 2018 Watts murders in Frederick, Colorado. Since then, reporters have quoted Tom on the case. Each item below gives the outlet, the date, a line on the piece and a link to it.
On the Dr. Phil show

In March 2019, Tom and his partners traveled to North Carolina to talk with Dr. Phil about the case and Christopher Watts’ confession, for a two-part special that aired on March 5 and March 11, 2019. In November 2019, the attorneys obtained a judgment of more than $6,000,000 for Shanann’s family in Weld County District Court.
Every case turns on its own facts; a past result does not predict or promise the outcome of any other matter.
After the episode, Dr. Phil sent our team a thank-you letter:
“Hey, Dr. Phil here. Things got rushed yesterday in Pinehurst and I didn’t get a chance to say good bye and properly thank you for the valuable time and insight into this important and tragic story and your help in arranging our interview with the family.
And thank you all for your willingness to come on the air and represent your client family with such professionalism and dignity.
Sandy, Frank, and Franky Jr., are so fortunate to have you four protecting them, especially when they are in such a vulnerable position.
I’ve worked with the top lawyers and law firms in the country and have not met a more competent and committed firm than yours.
I’m certain our paths will cross again soon. I sure hope so. We would love to work with you again anytime.
Hopefully business or pleasure will bring you to LA when we are shooting and we will have the chance to show you the same hospitality you showed to us.
It was fun flying with you too! It’s a good thing we got out when we did! We would have never gotten back in there Saturday night due to ice and sleet.
My best to Karly, and please let her know Sarah is looking forward to having her out to the show soon. Tell her we have a seat saved right next to Robin.
If there is anything else we can do to help this wonderful family please let us know and again thank you all for facilitating our connection with them.
I trust we handled them in keeping with your expectations.
All the best,
Phil McGraw”
